Beginning of the school year letter

Dear Grade Five parents,

I would like to welcome you and your child to the new school year, as well as to my Grade 5 class. I hope the return from summer holidays finds you and your child well rested and ready for an exciting year. Your child will take part in a variety interesting activities and projects this year. The purpose of these activities will be to support the curriculum and offer your child the opportunity to grow spiritually and intellectually.

The information provided below is important to ensure that your child be prepared for the Physical Education Program and Library day.

Physical Education

The Physical Education program will be taught by M Johnston on days 1,3 and 5.

Indoor runners are mandatory and are to be left at school.

Grade 5 students must have a change of clothing for physical education class. This should include shorts and t-shirt in a gym bag.

Library

Library Day will be on Day 6. Please ensure your child has all books at school in order to take out new ones.

All library books must be kept in a plastic bag in order to keep our library books in good condition for all of our students at St. Luke School.

Also, in order to provide you with a summary of the Gr.5 curriculum I have included links to information from Alberta Education. Please find below, a copy of the Grade 5 Curriculum At a Glance, the French Language Arts Curriculum at a Glance, as well as the Religion Curriculum at a Glance.

I am looking forward to working in cooperation with you so that we may meet the educational needs of your child.  It is our dedication, collaboration, encouragement and continued support that will assist us in helping your child to achieve his or her goals at École St.Luke.

Sincerely,

Mme O’Connor
